This child care is truly a place where the whole child is cared for. The best part of St John's is its teachers. They love and care for each child as if it was there own. My daughter attended there until PreK and my youngest will start in August. They place is clean and students are fed breakfast, lunch and snacks. All cooked I the kitchen by Ms Christine. This place is the only place I will leave my kids to be cared for

After looking into several child care facilities for my children who at the time were 18mths and 3years old. This place ended up being my children's daycare for the last 2 years. And will continue to care for my youngest child. I have a daughter who was very shy and timid. After coming to this center it has opened her up and made her more outgoing. The staff is great ! They are all caring and loving to my children. My kids had never been in a daycare environment and with the dedication of the staff they love this center. Mrs. Heather is a awesome teacher for my daughter who will now be more than ready for Kinder. And as for my toddler the separation was rough but with the help of all the staff especially Ms. Heather she really helped me with the transition. He has learned sign language and lots of nursery songs he knows his ABC's and can count. He makes full sentences and is understandable. They really teach all the children from 12mths to the 5 year olds. I love this place and I'm glad I have stayed with them. The kids get cooked meals not boxed meals. My children love Ms. Christine's cooking. Overall I am very happy with the care they give my children. Not anyone can walk in without being stopped! The director Ms. Dunn is very caring and has been very respectful to me and my family. I love how the center is very diverse. I wouldn't change my decision at all. Thank you, to all the staff for treating us like family.

I brought my son to St. John's after our previous daycare lost their contract and had to close. I was a little concerned as any mom taking their child to a new place. However, from the time I walked through the doors I have had nothing but great experiences with the center and all of the workers. Ms. Dunn, she is in charge of the daycare, has always made me feel comfortable and she truly cares about all of the children. Ms. Dunn has special activities planned a few times a month for the kids, such as water day, petting zoo and paint day. These are just some examples of fun activities planned each month. They encourage parents to participate in activities. I went to a paint day and had so much fun with my son! They had so many different ways for the kids to paint that I never thought of and have used now with my son. They encourage the children to use their imagination and are always trying new and different things.
The workers are fantastic! My son has Ms. Lettie and Ms. Melissa. My son has learned so much from attending St. John's. Every week there is a different theme in their room. The regular activities center around the theme for that week. I love getting the art work each week, sometimes everyday, as a mother. The ladies always inform me of what is going on with my son, what kind of day he had and activities they did that day. They make sure to let me know when I am running low on supplies, not just when I am out.
I have grown to love this center and everyone associated with it. All of the workers I have come in contact with truly cares about the children and are very involved in the development of learning. This is a hidden gem in South Austin. You can't go wrong sending your child here. I am so glad I found this for my son. He loves attending and I love that part the most!

Twelve years ago when we walked in the doors of St. John's Lutheran Child Care Center, we knew this was where we wanted our children to attend. And now, as parents of three children who have all attended the center, the staff have truly become like family to us. The care they have provided is more than we could have ever imagined. They offer a loving, caring and safe environment, as well as a foundation based on the love of God. Our children loved their time at St. John's and learned so much from their experiences there. It feels good know that the staff is truly dedicated and interested in early childhood development. Mrs. Dunn, the center's director, and all of the staff are truly committed, heart and soul, to every child. We love the small, intimate atmosphere of the school and the family oriented activities it provides. They have weekly themes, seasonal events and encourage parental involvement. The teachers provide a daily written report of the child's behavior, general feelings, meals, etc., which allows parents inside their child's day. Our oldest son Isaiah, now 14, still raves about Mrs. Gomez's cooking and our daughter, Shanti, age 8, remains best friends with a classmate she met in the three year old class. Now, our youngest, Marlon, thanks us just for taking him to school. These are memories that St. John's has given to our children and our family is so thankful for all they have done and continue to do for us. We could not offer a higher recommendation for St. John's Lutheran Child Care Center!
